Incense burner

Our incense burners are classics for daily, atmospheric incense burning – a simple, gentle, and everyday way to enjoy your incense. Our soapstone incense burners with stainless steel sieves, in particular, have proven themselves over many years.

With an incense burner, you can gently burn resins, herbs, and incense mixtures and easily scent rooms. Simply place a tea light inside and put your incense on the metal sieve – and your incense burning time begins :)

Depending on the distance between the candle flame and the sieve, your incense will develop in varying intensities. A larger distance ensures a particularly gentle, atmospheric incense experience. Our burners with a distance of 7 cm or more are especially well-suited for natural wax tea lights, as these burn a bit hotter.

Tip from our incense practice: Dripping resins can be wonderfully tamed with a little sand on the incense sieve – this makes them burn slower. For resins, we recommend incense sieves; for herbs and fine herbal mixtures, incense plates are often the better choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

🔥 What's the difference between an incense burner and incense charcoal?

A smoking censer works with a tea light and gently heats your incense over a sieve or an incense plate. The smoking is therefore mild, atmospheric and wonderfully suitable for everyday use.

Incense charcoal produces significantly higher temperatures. This makes resins and herbs develop more intensely, powerfully and often smokier. This is particularly suitable for classic rituals, house clearings or intensive smoking.

🌿 Which incense is suitable for an incense stove?

An incense burner is wonderful for:

  • Incense resins like frankincense, copal, or myrrh
  • Incense herbs
  • Incense blends
  • Fine incense woods

For most resins and incense blends, we recommend an incense screen; for herbs and fine herbal blends, often an incense plate, so that nothing falls through the screen or burns too quickly. Camphor, menthol, and very ethereal resins such as dammar or fresh copal are also often the better choice on an incense plate. These liquefy quite quickly when heated and can drip through the screen – with an incense plate, you can burn them much more relaxed and safely.

💧 Why does frankincense drip on the incense screen?

Many resins soften when heated and can drip through the sieve. This is perfectly normal :) The larger your incense sieve, the better you can push your incense to the edge instead of directly over the flame – this way you can play a little with the heat and smoke more gently – without dripping.

Our Lichtbringer tip:
A little sand on the incense sieve slows down the melting and makes smoking much more relaxed.

🕯️ How far should the flame be from the screen?

The greater the distance between the tealight and the incense screen, the more gently your incense will be heated.

For a mild, atmospheric incense experience, we recommend larger distances. Especially with natural wax tealights, which often burn hotter, 7 cm or more is ideal.

✨ Are incense burners suitable for beginners?

Yes – absolutely.

Incense burners are one of the easiest ways to start burning incense:

  • no lighting charcoal
  • no heavy smoke development
  • simple to use
  • ideal for everyday use, small rituals, and gentle incense burning

A wonderful introduction to the world of incense 🌿
