A salt that tastes like eggs – and thus offers a perfect vegan alternative for lovers of this flavour. This is Kala Namak, Indian black salt. It smells of sulfur and eggs, contains a lot of valuable iron, and is recommended in Ayurvedic cuisine as being extremely digestible and promoting digestion; it is even a component of Ayurvedic medicine.
Ingredients: volcanic rock salt, hot-fired with plant ash (from Haloxylon recurvum, amaranth family) and ground.
