In oriental countries, the rose is highly praised; it is considered the "mother of fragrances," a symbol of wisdom and purity. Its light, delicate floral scent brings light to the soul and opens it to love. It can heal inner wounds, help one find inner peace, and open one up to emotionally connecting as well as sensual experiences.
Like hardly any other scent, the rose can "see" into our inner self, allowing the soul to open and become more receptive to what surrounds us. Its warm, protective scent helps calm irritated nerves and rekindle a sense of connection. Thus, it is a wonderful ingredient for a relaxing evening incense burning, for love spells, but also for communal connecting ceremonies. It's time to open the gates, time to soften! It is no coincidence that the rose is also a symbol of birth, the newborn, who comes into the world naked and full of love and sooooo open.
The petals (not the calyx) are to be smudged with as little heat as possible. For this, you can place the rose petals on a heat-insulating layer (e.g., sand) on the incense charcoal – then they won't burn down as quickly. When using an incense burner, a good distance from the candle is recommended. Nevertheless, the petals tend to lose their scent quite quickly when smudged. They can be combined well with resins – for example, Frankincense Eritrea, White Copal – then the scent lasts a bit longer – or you can also add a pure essential rose oil to enjoy this fragrance (for this, drip 1 drop of the essential oil onto the resin or, for example, onto fine sandalwood powder).

Our incense assortment is a treasure chest, here you will find resins, woods, and herbs from all over the world. We source these from selected specialist incense dealers and other trusted colleagues, herbs from specialist retailers for natural raw materials (just like our food). For us, smudging is pure plant helper power! That's why we invest a lot of time in researching the sources of our raw materials to be able to offer them as sustainably as possible.
And it should be noted: We offer our resins, woods, and herbs exclusively for smudging, and all our good advice is taken from traditional lore and our own experiences. These do not, of course, replace a qualified advisor (doctor, naturopath, ...). And whether something works as described, well, never forget: Only you alone can open the door :) Just as only you alone can bear responsibility for yourself ...
