Green Tara is a powerful goddess, known to us today from Tibetan Buddhism, but whose origins are in Hinduism and who is also worshipped there. The divine mother! Also called "the Green Liberator," she stands for protection and compassion – protection from the eight types of fear that are obstacles on our path to enlightenment – and compassion for all beings. By the way, she is said to be particularly swift in fulfilling wishes (if they are not worldly :) and in protecting from dangers. This is probably why she is a goddess who is invoked daily in Tibetan Buddhism. The color green in this case symbolizes the element wind, which is why she can act so quickly :) Green also stands for healing, for the healing energy of Mother Earth.
