JUNIPER is a sacred shamanic plant and one of humanity's oldest incenses. "Rauchholter" is the old German name, and the berries are called "Weiheicheln" (consecration acorns). Juniper is probably the most common incense in our culture.
Juniper wood has a soft, warm, woody-spicy scent; it is an ancient incense that our Stone Age ancestors already burned at their fires. This smoke can evoke a feeling of being at home on Mother Earth, of the deep, ancient connection between humans and nature. It is good for burning to arrive and stay, to take a powerful breath after great exertion, for blessing and connecting. Protective and enveloping. In the Middle Ages, juniper was burned against the plague, and its disinfectant effect is still valued today.
