Chacapas carry the wind of the forest within them. They are ritual leaf rattles that are wonderfully suited for wind and air rituals - for example, for ritual accompaniment during smudging, as they not only make a sound but also gently move the air. The sound of the eucalyptus Chacapa is long-lasting, delicate, and rustling. Eucalyptus leaves spiritually represent purification and clarification of the mind, for releasing old blockages and self-confidence.
Traditionally, the leaf rattle is used in healing ceremonies in the Amazon, where it is known by various names, e.g., Shakapa, Chakapa, Chacarpa, or Huaira Sacha. Even in this country, the fascinating effect of this ritual instrument is enjoying increasing popularity, and the Chacapa can now also be found in sound therapy, trance journeys, and sweat lodge rituals.
The Chacapa is a regional natural product and may therefore vary slightly from the illustration. The handle is wrapped with recycled cotton fabric. It is a natural instrument made with real leaves! - this means that leaves can of course fall off when in use :)
