MASTIX, the "gold of the island of Chios", is the resin of an evergreen shrub from the Mediterranean region. A true bringer of light! The translucent, glossy yellow resin beads are among the finest incense resins and are a good substitute for those who don't like frankincense - but appreciate its effect. They burn with a lot of fine smoke, leaving nothing behind. This is very pleasant as a single incense, but is also excellently suited for mixtures. Herbs are "absorbed" and bound when burned with mastic resin, and thus burn significantly longer and more gently.
