Moorcing - Classic - Jew's Harp
The Moorcing is the traditional South Indian Jew's Harp.
In South India, the Jew's Harp is part of the classical music ensemble of what is known as Carnatic music. Traditional drum rhythms are transcribed for the Moorcing. A very strong reed gives the Moorcing an extremely loud and high-pitched sound, which is particularly inviting for fast and rhythmic playing!
This indigenous Moorcing comes from Tamil Nadu in South India and is very authentic in its sound and feel. The Moorcing (also spelled Morsing or Mursing) is suitable for all those familiar with playing the mouth organ, and also for experienced players.
