This overtone flute is handcrafted from elder wood by a Slovak manufacturer, following ancient tradition. Skillfully crafted with attention to detail, as evidenced by the engravings and the fine, linseed-oil-sealed surface. This is also reflected in its clear, warbling sound. Each flute is made from a single piece of elder wood and is unique in its form. This is a very special instrument! Those who have already discovered our bamboo overtone flutes can now play a sonorous treasure with the Koncovka, in an old, archaic tradition.
The Koncovka is considered the smaller sister of the Fujara. It is played by overblowing and sounds in the natural overtone series. If you close the lower opening, another scale sounds.
Overtone flutes are the ancestors of all flutes. They have no finger holes or keys. The different tones are produced solely by how strongly or weakly one blows into the flute. By opening and closing the lower end with the finger, varied melodies can be played. This is child's play and creates a very beautiful, archaic sound, e.g., for music around a campfire.
