These Shipibo shamanic rattles are traditionally made from the calabash tree by the women of the Shipibo-Conibo people and "inscribed" with the quene - the melodies and ornamental lines received from the spirit world.

This rattle is a tool from an ancient shamanic tradition that has lost none of its archaic meaning and depth.

Each rattle is decorated with similar but different ornaments and is a unique piece. The traditionally handcrafted shamanic rattles sound bright and loud. They are said to help the healer fall into a trance and create harmony between the world and people. A powerful tool for shamanic journeys, rituals, spiritual singing.

The Shipibo-Conibo are an indigenous people from South America who want to preserve their ancient traditions and are embarking on a gentle path into modernity by sharing them. They live in the Amazon rainforest of Peru. The knowledge of their shamans is still alive and in demand; among other things, the shamans perform Ayahuasca ceremonies, during which many of the patterns used in Shipibo handicrafts emerge from deep journeys into the inner spirit world. These are not just ornamental decorations, but songs, writing, a bridge to another reality - and they are based on ancient, archaic traditions.
