The seeds of SYRIAN RUE have been traditionally smoked in Central Asia - especially in Persia - since ancient times. The plant is considered a sacred plant of the ancient Orient, a remedy and a sacred drug. Traditionally, the smoke is used against the evil eye. Shamans use it for intoxication, for visions and oracles; it is also said to have mood-lifting effects and be good for the respiratory tract.
