CISTUS LEAVES are the resinous, tart-sweet scented leaves of the rockrose. Similar to Labdanum – the pure resin of the rockrose – their enchanting scent transports us into the world of the senses and allows the mind to let go and travel. A wonderful ingredient for sensual, deep incense mixtures with which one can travel deep into sensory experiences with a loved one, but also for traveling within one's own mind - this herb can show us deep memories. The smoke envelops us lovingly and warmly.
Cistus leaves are best burned with as little heat as possible. You can ignite them directly or burn them on a sieve/charcoal. You can place them on a heat-insulating layer on the charcoal (e.g. sand) - then they won't glow down as quickly. On an incense burner, a high distance from the candle is recommended.
